Join our team and help build engineering solutions that change the industry. About the role:The Shop Technician II primarily works in the shop making repairs to equipment as required. The Shop Technician II is a skilled, experienced technician with the ability to work autonomously, synthesize problems and provide solutions. This individual will be responsible for assisting in training and mentoring other technicians. Additional Information: Relocation or sponsorship assistance is NOT available for this position. Starting Pay: $19.85, additional based on experienceSchedule: Monday – Friday 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 24/7 on call, currently working every other Saturdays Overtime based on business need What you will do:Assemble and break down, clean new or used equipment, inspect, repair and test grease and paint equipmentRead and interpret blueprints and drawingsExecute general shop maintenance such as cleanup of shop, work area and equipmentPerform shipping and receiving responsibilitiesResponsible for the safety of self and others including reporting of all work-related injuries, near misses, equipment damage and unsafe acts as soon as practicable to supervisor or senior technician. Adhere to and exercise Stop Work Authority and Management of ChangeTroubleshoot, repair, reassembly and testing based on customer communicationsOperate, handle, and lift shop equipment and tools and products up to 50 lbs.Maintain SPM Oil & Gas company supplied assets and any other equipment, including site specific equipment, as it relates to company policyMaintain a professional appearance and work attitude at all timesDemonstrate the ability to perform independently or in a team settingAvailable on 24-hour call to respond to customer needs on special occurrencesPerform occasional required work in the fieldPerforms other duties as assigned What you will have: Demonstrate consistency, accountability, reliability, and solid work ethic Working knowledge of oil and gas equipment One year of equivalent work experience or training Physical Demands: Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear Required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus Must be able to wear protective footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the department Work Environment:Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration Noise Level: Moderate Summary Pay Range:$19.85 - $26.55Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
