Position Purpose:Analyze and resolve verbal and written claims and authorization appeals from providers and pursue resolution of formal grievances from members.Key Details: This position is remote/work from home. Prefer applicants who reside in the state of Illinois. Role supports Meridian Medicaid and Youth Care members.Work schedule during training is Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm central time zone, and after training will be Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm with a 30 minute lunch central time zone. Overtime will be offered as needed.Gather, analyze and report verbal and written member and provider complaints, grievances and appealsPrepare response letters for member and provider complaints, grievances and appealsMaintain files on individual appeals and grievancesMay coordinate the Grievance and Appeals CommitteeSupport the pay-for-performance programs, including data entry, tracking, organizing, and researching informationAssist with HEDIS production functions including data entry, calls to provider’s offices, and claims research.Manage large volumes of documents including copying, faxing and scanning incoming mailPerforms other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standards.Education/Experience:High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree preferred. 2+ years grievance or appeals, claims, related managed care experience, or relevant experience.
