Job Description

Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Synthetic Radiochemist to join our Regulatory Chemistry team in Indianapolis, IN. In the Regulatory Chemistry team, we support the synthesis of isotopically-labeled test materials and reference standards to support R&D research studies enabling the registration of new and existing active ingredients. The individual will conduct hands-on synthetic experimentation and problem-solving and possess an analytical mindset, a willingness to learn, attention to laboratory cleanliness with radioisotopes, and the ability to multitask successfully and efficiently. The individual will serve as a single point of contact with Regulatory for synthetic needs across various active ingredients and develop synthetic routes and chemical processes to enable their synthesis to meet registration deadlines. In addition, the individual will serve as a synthetic chemistry SME to support key stakeholders for test material planning, budget allocations, stereoisomer considerations, and structure elucidation across our R&D sub-teams.What You'll Do:Determine isotope labeling synthesis strategies with key stakeholders, and synthetically validate and prepare carbon-14, carbon-13, and nitrogen-15 labeled molecules.Develop novel routes and isolation techniques for metabolite and impurity reference standards to support analytical and regulatory R&D studies.Prepare quotations to enable procurement of isotopically labeled reagents.Conduct experiments and collect data accurately and efficiently according to GLP standards.Under minimal guidance, develop a synthetic plan and analyze experimental results, producing reproducible data and results to capture in detailed reports.Capable of troubleshooting project challenges and resolving issues independently.Handle radiotracers in a safe and compliant manner according to established SOPs and the Radiation Safety Manual and maintain a clean and organized lab environment.Meet all Corteva EHS&S compliance standards and foster a strong commitment to safety.What Skills You Need:Demonstrated competence in the area of synthetic organic chemistry with previous synthetic laboratory experience is preferred.Prior experience in radiochemical and isotope synthesis.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team to drive projects to completion.Proficiency in using laboratory software and data analysis tools including electronic laboratory notebooks, HPLCs, Beta-RAM detectors, NMR, and mass spectrometers.Effectively communicate project status and timelines to a diverse set of R&D team members and stakeholders.A minimum of a Master’s degree in organic chemistry or related fields, or a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience.#LI-BB1Benefits – How We’ll Support You:Numerous development opportunities offered to build your skillsBe part of a company with a higher purpose and contribute to making the world a better placeHealth benefits for you and your family on your first day of employmentFour weeks of paid time off and two weeks of well-being pay per year, plus paid holidaysExcellent parental leave which includes a minimum of 16 weeks for mother and fatherFuture planning with our competitive retirement savings plan and tuition reimbursement programLearn more about our total rewards package here - Corteva BenefitsCheck out life at Corteva! www.linkedin.com/company/corteva/lifeAre you a good match?
