Then this may be the opportunity for you!​About the roleReports to the Site Manager, the First Class Chief Power Engineer & Environmental Manager will ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of energy systems while leading all aspects of site environmental activities. This person will chip in to optimizing energy performance and reducing environmental impact.Operations and MaintenanceOversee powerhouse operations (boilers, steam, water systems, and utilities)Plan shutdowns, inspections, and preventive/corrective maintenanceEnsure compliance with all regulations and standardsOptimize equipment performance and reliabilityEnvironmental ManagementManage environmental programs (air, water, waste, GHGs)Ensure compliance with environmental laws and permitsLead audits and regulatory reportingImplement continuous improvement initiativesHealth & SafetyPromoting a strong safety cultureEnsure safe operating procedures are followedParticipate in incident investigations and corrective actionsTeam LeadershipLead, coach, and develop team membersPlan schedules and ensure operational coverageEnsure required training and certificationsContinuous ImprovementIdentify and lead energy efficiency and emission reduction projectsTrack performance standards and recommend improvementsRequirementsValid 1st Class Power Engineer certification (mandatory)5–10 years of experience in an industrial environmentExperience in team leadership and regulatory complianceAssetsHigher education in engineering or environmental fieldKnowledge of ISO 14001SkillsStrong leadership and team engagementHigh level of accountability and attention to detailAnalytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication skillsWorking ConditionsIndustrial environmentOn-call availability requiredFlexible hours based on operational needsFlexibility is key to our success.
