As a finance intern, you will work alongside experienced finance professionals, gaining hands on experience in the financial world of a fortune 150 company. Opportunities include: Controller/Accounting Financial Planning & Analysis Risk Management, Insurance & Treasury Program Location for 2027: Charlotte, NCJob Description This role is a temporary internship assignment during the Summer of 2027 in departments where there are business needs within Finance at Duke Energy. Tasks may include preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, budgets, and variance analysis. Intern will gain exposure to various financial systems and use of Microsoft Excel. Basic/Required QualificationsCurrently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business or other business-related discipline or Master of Accountancy (MACC)/Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA)Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higherMust not graduate before August 2027Desired QualificationsEffective written and oral communication and collaboration skillsAdvanced analytical and critical thinking skills – including data analyticsDemonstrated ability to work in a team environment and foster good relationships with teammates and business partnersHighly organized with attention to detail and ability to efficiently multi-task within tight deadlinesProficient using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and Power PointWorking ConditionsMust be able to work full-time (40 hours/week) throughout the duration of the summer.Hybrid mobility classification - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility. Reliable, consistent transportation is required to ensure timely arrival at the applicable facility. Required Qualifications
