Employees at this level solve complex problems, manage work, and provide leadership to others in engineering areas of specialization, with minimal supervision and increased latitude for un-reviewed work. The Lead Engineer serves in lead roles providing guidance to others. They are also expected to have advanced skills and can work independently. This position will support Marshall Steam Station as the Electrical System Owner.Responsibilities Serving as the site subject matter expert for electrical systems.Monitoring and trending system/component performance.Directing onsite testing and troubleshooting activities for emergent issues.Evaluating preventative maintenance (PM) program performance and recommending performance-based adjustments.Ensuring regulatory compliance is maintainedInterface with operations & maintenance, assisting with any other electrical/control system challenges and needsCoordinating cross functionally with other departments (such as Regional Engineering, Transmission, Maintenance & Operations) to ensure system concerns, schedules, budgeting, and related issues are properly addressed.Maintain plant risk grid for system/equipment responsibilitiesInterfacing with external vendors to ensure technical issues are properly resolved.Evaluates Fleet Operating Experience and industry learnings to improve Equipment Reliability.Support project management by developing the scope, technical basis, installation and testing requirements for engineering design changes, which include but are not limited to AC power systems, DC power systems, Large AC motors, Transformers, Switchgear, Motor Control Centers, Voltage Regulators, Breakers, etc.Proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.Serve as station PTACBasic/ Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering8 years related work experienceProfessional EngineerDesired QualificationsUnderstanding basic engineering theories and principles.Understanding basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
