Job Description:Job Title: Director, Strategic ContractsNote: Fidelity is not providing immigration sponsorship for this positionThe RoleThe role of Director, Strategic Contracts, provides industry specific expertise and strategic and tactical direction in the development, negotiation, management, and administration of complex and highly visible supplier contract negotiations for Fidelity's Procurement organization. This role will be responsible for helping lead collaboration and partnership with business unit partners, legal, risk, compliance, and other operational subject matter experts across the organization to minimize risk and optimize value to Fidelity. The purpose of your role is to become a trusted advisor to your business partners, counsel Fidelity leaders on contract and risk decisions, and fulfill business partner needs quickly, effectively, and in the best interest of the firm.The Expertise and Skills You BringBachelor’s degree; JD strongly preferred. 8-10 years of equivalent experience of advanced legal studies or purchasing, including complex contract negotiationsProactive management and development of key business partner relationshipsAbility to work well under pressureSolid understanding of complex contracting models and the ability to negotiate and provide guidance across both standard and non-standard contractsAbility to influence business stakeholders and senior executives through fact-based decision supportExperience working with leaders at all levels, from project managers to the C-SuiteCreative, flexible, and able to handle ambiguityExhibits strong executive presence and confident working with all organizational levelsStrong relationship management capabilities that will get you a seat at the leadership table of our key business stakeholders (ex. Legal, Insurance, Compliance, Vendor Management Oversight)Comfortable making decisions and taking smart risksStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsProven track record of effective collaboration and teamworkStrong negotiation skills and knowledge of contract terms and conditionsAbility to assess risk and translate business requirements to viable business solutionsCommitment to drive quality and process improvementsProvides business leaders with contract analysis and a point-of-view for decision supportUnderstands business objectives of the applicable Fidelity business team and integrates those requirements into the appropriate contracting vehicleProviding the Procurement organization with recommendations, modifications, and process improvement opportunitiesLeverage experience and knowledge to provide thought leadership with business partnersResponds to shifting priorities while maintaining progress of regularly scheduled workThe TeamFidelity procurement helps Fidelity business partners make smart purchasing decisions that reduce risk and maximize value for the firm. Your impact will be proven through the savings you are able to return to the firm.Fidelity’s Onsite Working ModelFidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues.
