Job Description

Your Work Matters:The Inventory Strategist works within Supply Chain and is responsible for partnering with merchandising and store operations to develop, implement and execute inventory strategies that maximize sales and inventory productivity for Floor & Decor. In order to maximize sales and inventory productivity, it is critical that the Strategist maintain appropriate in-stock positions in both the stores and distribution centers for all SKUs. The Strategist will work closely with merchants, stores, vendors, logistics, distribution, and the Asian souring office (ASO) to accomplish team goals.The Strategist is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate SKU forecasts, developing the inventory & replenishment strategy, managing replenishment parameters for each SKU & location to execute the strategy, achieving targeted in-stock levels & planned inventory turns and developing recommendations to improve inventory productivity.You'll be Successful With:Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferredCritical thinking skills to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutionsStrong self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervisionMust be detail-oriented and organizedAction-oriented and accountable for responsibilitiesAbility to adapt well in a dynamic retail corporate environmentProficient in MS Office applications especially ExcelDFIO forecasting and replenishment solution knowledge is a plusAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of managementPossess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressureStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skillsYour Day Consist Of:Develop the inventory and replenishment strategy for assigned SKUs and locationsParticipate in product line reviews and partner with merchandising and stores teams to influence the product assortment to maximize in-stocks and inventory turnsRecommend opportunities to both merchandising and regional merchandising to adjust visual presentation settings and job size parameters to maximize inventory turns and salesFocus on maintaining higher in stock for Top SKUs in area of responsibilityKeep Running Line Program SKUs in stock at each store while minimizing inventory investment in order to maximize inventory productivityGenerate sales forecasts for new and existing items, improving accuracy over time.Identify root cause drivers of poor in-stocks and turnover and provide actions steps to improve resultsPartner with stores on forecast and replenishment settings as well as manual order needs.Produce necessary allocations and own purchase order responsibility from domestic and import vendors to keep both the distribution centers and stores in stockCollaborate with vendors to improve on-time and complete shipmentsReduce discontinued inventory investment to <10% for their area of responsibility through collaboration with both merchandising and regional merchandisingRecommend strategies to minimize inventory investment to improve Turns and ensure compliance to the company's "Open to Buy" constraints.Working Conditions (travel & environment)This position is salaried, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week.Occasional travel required including air and car travelWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles.
