The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Defense Stockpile Management Systems (DSMS) support is searching for a Sr. Network Engineer to join their team in Fort. Belvoir, VA.The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of enterprise LAN/WAN environments. This role ensures strict adherence to Department of War (DoW) cybersecurity and configuration-management standards, providing critical technical leadership, Operations & Maintenance (O&M), and continuous monitoring for mission-critical networks.WHAT YOU WILL DO:Install, configure, and maintain multi-vendor routing/switching platforms (Cisco), VPN concentrators, and F5 load balancers. Design and implement network topologies, managing complex routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and MPLS.Apply DoW STIG/SRG requirements to all network devices to maintain IAVA/IAVM compliance. Perform verification across HBSS modules and utilize enterprise automation tools to deploy secure baselines.Responsible for ensuring 99.7% network uptime across critical and strategic enclaves, driving cybersecurity compliance through rigorous STIG/IAVA applications, and leading Network engineering intiatives during complex migrations, hardware refreshes, and network outages.Design, plan, and execute enterprise network migrations, topology updates, and hardware refreshes (Cisco, Palo Alto, etc). Develop and maintain comprehensive network diagrams, rack elevations, and disaster recovery plans.Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies. Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
