As a Network Engineer Senior, you’ll design, support, and optimize an enterprise-scale network that keeps thousands of users and systems connected, secure, and mission-ready every day.How You’ll Make an ImpactIn this role, you will:Provide day-to-day operational support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for a large-scale Juniper and Cisco switching infrastructure.Configure and maintain load balancers and boundary security devices (e.g., firewalls, edge routers) to ensure resilient and secure connectivity.Use Forward Networks to:Build virtual replicas (“digital twins”) of the production networkSimulate and validate SDN code changes before they go liveDocument and visualize the physical and logical network topologySafeguard network integrity, performance, and security across a distributed environment supporting several hundred thousand endpoints.Monitor and respond to network events and incidents, leading root cause analysis and driving permanent fixes.Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and documentation in line with industry and organizational standards.Ensure alignment with security policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.Participate in planning and executing network upgrades, migrations, and performance optimizations.Collaborate closely with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.Operate with a high degree of autonomy, proactively identifying, diagnosing, and resolving complex network issues.What You’ll Need to SucceedBring your engineering expertise and passion for innovation to GDIT.
