Job Description SummaryEngineering associated with the manufacturing process. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesExecute and provide guidance for the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirementsDefine and develop product processes related to design, analysis, test, materials, manufacture, quality and/or productivityIdentify need for technical and program reviews within the organization, lead and participate in the technical reviews with limited guidance from senior engineersDemonstrated ability to monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments as appropriateAssure proper documentation of technical data or programs generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and proceduresFormulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules and contract commitments, develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problemsCreate inspection programs for CMM’s, bluelight or other inspection technologies for manufacturing, quality and engineering organizationsSeek out new inspection technologies to improve throughput and quality of partDevelop and promote standardization throughout the supply chainProvide inspection technical support to the shop and industrialization of inspection processesCoordination and implementation of inspection activitiesMaintain processes and equipment needed to support next generation manufacturing processesRequired QualificationsBachelors degree (or HS Diploma/GED and a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing or Engineering)Minimum of 3 years experience in Manufacturing or EngineeringDesired CharacteristicsBachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Aerospace or Computer ScienceExperience in the use of scanning systems to capture component geometryPCDMIS, Polyworks, Modus or Camio software programmingIn-depth understanding of engineering technology and toolsExperience with aviation quality requirementsKnowledge of various inspection technologies from Renishaw, Hexagon, ZeissProficient in advanced use of NX or equivalent CAD software, with the ability to open and navigate models, extract data, create drawings, perform basic modeling, and export data for various applicationsStrong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools, systems and troubleshooting skillsUnderstanding and the application of GD&TStrong PC skills; Word, Excel, PowerPointExperience in the off-line development of programs and on-site installationExperience in the inspection of jet engine hardwareHumble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn​Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively​Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed ​Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative​Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinkerGE Aerospace offers comprehensive benefits and programs to support your health and, along with programs like HealthAhead, your physical, emotional, financial and social wellbeing.
