Responsibilities include:CNC Setup and MachiningPerform independent setups on CNC lathes, turning centers, and grinding equipment, including work holding, tooling, offsets, and first-piece validationOperate CNC and grinding equipment, monitor process performance, and make approved adjustments to maintain quality and dimensional controlVerify wheel/tool selection, dress grinding wheels, and monitor tool wear, wheel wear, part growth, and other conditions affecting process capabilityBlueprint Reading, Process Control, and InspectionRead and interpret engineering drawings, routers, specifications, GD&T, and inspection requirementsUnderstand and machine to dimensional requirements such as runout, concentricity, profile, surface finish, and tight tolerancesMake minor G-code edits as authorized and perform in-process/final inspection using precision measuring toolsDocument inspection results and validate first-piece acceptance to requirementsTroubleshooting and Problem SolvingIdentify and address machining issues such as chatter, taper, lobing, burn, size drift, and runoutStop work and escalate nonconformances when requiredSupport containment, corrective actions, and collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to improve process stability and performanceDocumentation, Traceability, and Continuous ImprovementComplete production, quality, and system documentation accurately while maintaining part traceability and lot controlSupport first article inspection, documentation and required work order transactionsParticipate in kaizen and continuous improvement efforts to reduce scrap, rework, and cycle timeSupport standard work, 5S, continuous improvement, and routine operator maintenance including cleaning and coolant checksWhat we’re looking for:Required qualificationsHigh school diploma, GED, or vocational school certificateMinimum 5 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience with CNC turning and/or grinding, including the ability to perform independent machine setupsProven ability to machine parts to tight tolerances with experience using precision measurement tools and recording inspection results to specificationAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&TThis role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joiningPreferred qualificationsExperience in aerospace manufacturingExperience working in controlled manufacturing environments with strict documentation and traceability requirementsExperience machining precision aerospace componentsExperience with First Article Inspection (FAI), including AS9102Experience machining advanced materials such as ceramic compositesExperience with 3-axis and 5-axis vertical and horizontal machining centersExperience with multi-axis turning centers and complex workholdingStrong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to process improvementThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
