Job Description SummaryThe Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aerospace as a SkillBridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member’s suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.Job DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician will be required to follow procedures and document work, hold safety in the highest regard, be highly motivated, willing to learn & required to perform preventative/ corrective maintenance, in accordance with a total preventative maintenance (TPM) program, on various types of Commercial Jet Engine Test Cell equipment.Military backgrounds in aircraft maintenance, avionics, electrical/mechanical systems, power generation, or ground support equipment align well with this role.Roles and Responsibilities:Preventative Maintenance InspectionsCorrective Maintenance RepairFailure AnalysisOperation of Specialized EquipmentSetup, installation, calibration, documentation, and operation of analog and digital instrumentation, data acquisition, and processing systemsContributing to the investigation, correction and documentation of instrumentation or system malfunctionsActively participate in multi-skills developmentMechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairsAssist with safety and environmental inspections to maintain facility complianceBasic Qualifications:Active Military personnel on their last 180 days of military serviceAssociate’s degree in a technical field from an accredited school or institution {OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 2 years of technical experience (including experience in industrial maintenance)Physical requirements: Regularly lift/push/pull up to [50] lbs, stand/walk for extended periods; climb ladders/stands; work at heights and in high‑noise environments; wear required PPE (hearing/eye protection, safety footwear, etc.)Desired Characteristics:Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learnTransparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructivelyFocused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committedLeadership ability: strong communicator, collaborativeProblem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinkerAbility to perform in a self-directed team environmentAbility and willingness to work weekend shifts when requiredAbility to interpret building drawings, electrical, and mechanical schematicsCapable of working from proceduresExperience in an industrial maintenance environmentStrong Mechanical, Electrical, and Hydraulic SkillsInstrumentation and PLC controls experienceExperience with hoist systems and their controlsExperience with maintenance of industrial electrical systemsExperience with NFPA 70EExperience with operation of mobile equipment (forklift, telehandler, personnel lift)Computerized maintenance management experience (Ex.
