Job Description SummaryThe Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aerospace as a Skill Bridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member’s suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.Job DescriptionPerform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Includes Service Shops. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.A military background in maintenance, operations, or production leadership, particularly involving work assignment and prioritization, schedule execution, operational readiness, safety and quality accountability, and coordination across multiple support functions could be a strong fit for this role. This Frontline Leader position is available 1st shift - Test Cell and 2nd shift - Component Repair.Roles and Responsibilities:Oversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees.Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline.Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.Solid understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.Healthy understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.Ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters with guidance.Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks.Possess solid technical skills and is able to solve problems quickly.May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.This is an individual contributor opportunity needing someone with proven interpersonal skills or early people leader skills who has the ability to hire and develop talent.Provides mentorship and informal guidance to new team members.Basic Qualifications:Active Military Personnel on their last 180 days of Military ServiceBachelor's degree from an accredited university or college; orHigh school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in manufacturingExperience as a Team Lead or Supervisor in manufacturing (or equivalent Military experience)Desired Characteristics:Strong oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problemsAbility to document, plan, market, and execute programsEstablished project management skillsSuccessfully Leads and Manages in a thriving environmentTakes initiative and recover from matters quicklyDrives deadlines and schedules consistentlyConducts performance evaluations setting expectations & standards for employee growthExcels in rigorous situations with positive outcomesLeads, motivates, with a "can-do" attitude when complex situations ariseThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Required Qualifications

  • Active Military Personnel on their last 180 days of Military Service (experience)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college; or (degree in college)
  • High school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in manufacturing (experience, 6 years)
  • Experience as a Team Lead or Supervisor in manufacturing (or equivalent Military experience) (experience)
