Job Description SummaryThe Edison Works- TDC: Special Products Technician will support the Edison Works Supply Chain division. In this role, you will be involved in operating advanced manufacturing equipment and applying special process technologies, while adhering to stringent regulations related to the safety of personnel, product and facilities. You will develop solutions and report findings to key stakeholders including manufacturing, engineering and quality organizations. This role is on-site only.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities2nd shift - Monday-Friday from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pmCandidates need to have the ability to rotate across the lab performing various positions: examples are slurry painting, met lab- (using an electronic microscope to analyze flaws in parts) laser (similar to machining but using a laser for cutting), and airfoil - inspection process using high pressure air. ​Plan and conduct associated projects requested by manufacturing engineers/ organizational leaderPerform required tasks including setup, hardware processing, inspection and documenting resultsCarryout material procurement and report preparationMaintain accurate and complete records of materials and services used, experimental results, observations and raw dataPresent data in an appropriate formCreate and carryout new or special material processing and evaluation techniquesContact external and internal sources for needed information regarding materials and processes that will benefit assigned programsMaintain currency and compliance with GE policies, procedures, and directives, including vouchering, reporting, operating, environmental and safety practicesAbility to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance: DoD Collateral (w/ Secret eligibility)Required QualificationsAssociated Degree or a high school diploma/GED from an accredited school or institution manufacturing experience and/or inspection, assembly, instrumentation or test technician role experienceAbility to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance: DoD Collateral (w/ Secret eligibility)Desired CharacteristicsUnderstanding and ability to work with complicated drawings and part printsFamiliarity with advanced metals and/or compositesKnowledge of and ability to set up and operate conventional and non-conventional machiningAbility to operate computers, instruments, and gaugesAbility to properly use and care for assigned tools and equipmentAbility to adhere to standards, do a high-quality job in a safe manner and within acceptable timeAbility to promote a climate of cooperation; leading by example mentoring others in safety, quality, environmental, and lean philosophiesHumble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learnTransparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructivelyFocused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborativeProblem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinkerThis role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek.
