Shift change is on Thursdays.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESSafely, effectively and efficiently operate and monitor the facility’s three high pressure steam boilers, to include start-up, normal operation, and shutdownConduct all necessary boiler monitoring, water testing and inventory management on an ongoing basis, and notify supervisor of any necessary boiler repairs or tune-upsMonitor efficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and perform or assist with boiler maintenance, repairs and that of boiler-related steam and condensate systems as well as back up fuel oil systemMonitor building fire alarm and fire suppression systems and preform inspections and testing to insure a constant state of readinessClean and maintain all associated equipment, and perform regular safety checksCoordinate and assist in annual boiler inspectionsMonitor and assist in chiller plant operations after hours and weekends when necessaryOperate and monitor the plant’s three air compressorsMonitor, operate and maintain the facility’s well and domestic water systemManage time appropriately and be able to prioritize a work order backlogUtilize the maintenance management system (Nuvolo) to report and complete maintenance work ordersAssist with training new employees as neededAttend meetings and trainings as requiredPerform additional tasks as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust have a valid Minnesota 1st Class B or higher boiler operator's licenseAble to understand and interact with fully automated control systems, and operate in manual mode if necessaryAble to do physical labor throughout the shiftGood communication and problem-solving skillsHighly motivated, results driven, and trustworthyAbility to read and record data from gauges, meters and microprocessor-based data acquisition systems and accurately interpret such dataAbility to act quickly and calmly in emergency situationsAble to work well independently, and know when to seek assistanceMust be able to lift up to 50 - 100lbs occasionallyMust be able to use a hoist and rig pieces of equipment that could weigh up to 300lbs to remove or replace the equipmentAbility to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platformsAbility to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when requiredAbility to work in hot and noisy environmental conditionsComputer skills including MS Office.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS5-years of high-pressure boiler experienceExperience running and maintaining chillers, 2 years of experience in a manufacturing/production environmentExperience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred Experience operating chillers, cooling towers and related HVAC equipment.Familiarity with air compressors and compressed air systems.Experience in treatment and monitoring of water and wastewater systems.ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
