Fun fact: the plant is across the street from Prince’s former home and produces more than 110 products.What We Have to Offer$55.62/hourUp to 120 hours (15 days) vacation annually (depending on schedule) 11 paid company holidays 401(k) with company match Medical, dental, life insurance Career growth and cross-training opportunities Your Work Schedule and Shift Information 8-hour shifts Day Shift: Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 2 PM is preferredWorking hours can be flexibleMust be willing to work overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays as needed Plant operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/weekKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES As part of our manufacturing team, you will: Supervise electrical work of GMI registered unlicensed employees and contractors performing installations, additions, alterations, or repair work at ChanhassenReview electrical drawings, equipment specifications, and technical documents to ensure equipment meets GMI standards or determine appropriate solutions to achieve equivalent statusLead efforts to develop, centralize, and maintain electrical system documentation, one-line diagrams, short circuit, and arc flash studiesStay current with GMI Electrical Engineering StandardsLead electrical safety requirements including training and onboarding with new employees concerning PPE compliance, MN electrical licensing requirements, compliance of NFPA 70E and the GMI Electrical Safe Work Practices ProgramApprove electrical work hours for unlicensed employees and ensure unlicensed registrations and continuing education credits are currentLead continuing education training to build electrical skills in registered unlicensed employeesProvide guidance for current and future electrical system modificationsCoordinate and facilitate audits with the State of MN Electrical InspectorDevelop and implement comprehensive electrical system preventive maintenance plan for the electrical infrastructure and distribution for the Chanhassen plantPlan electrical maintenance work orders and assign to registered unlicensed employeesFacilitate building electrical shutdowns for preventative and corrective workMaintain integrity of emergency and stand-by electrical systemMaintain and standardize electrical nomenclature for all switchgear, transformers, and panelboardsTroubleshoot power interruptions and lead reliability efforts to maintain power to the siteBe on call for site power interruptions and coordinate efforts with Xcel Energy or other electrical utilitiesLead root cause analysis, maintenance, and repair on industrial process equipmentAssist other plant areas as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED Ability to work rotating 8-hour shifts Strong interpersonal communication skillsTwo-year trade school certificate in an accredited Electrical programState of Minnesota Master Electrician Class A licenseMinimum 5 years of work experience as a licensed Minnesota Electrician in an industrial environmentStrong understanding of MN Electrical Statues, OSHA, NEC, and NFPA 70EExperience working on low-voltage (<600 V) systems, including PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), motor controls, and instrumentationDesire/passion to learn more about the software side of controls/automationExperience with electrical contractor and project managementExperience troubleshooting equipment in an industrial settingEffective communication, safety, and leadership skillsMust be able to work in a cross functional team environment that requires continuous skill developmentMust possess the ability to understand and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others in the workplace regarding work matters (our business is generally conducted in English) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periods Willingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditions Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms Ability to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standards Ability to wear such as protective clothing and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment -PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard/bump cap, hair/beard net, gloves, and face masks (when required) Ability to work around high-speed machinery and food allergens PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Manufacturing or production experience ELIGIBILITYApplicants must meet a minimum 18-year age qualification.
