The EMT team is primarily responsible for specifying, sourcing, engineering, integrating, safely commissioning and developing a robust maintenance model for test equipment within the lab. This role directly affects the quality, durability and performance of vehicles and related products developed by General Motors.This job is based in General Motors’ Milford Proving Grounds Energy and Emissions Laboratories. The lab and results it produces are used by GM’s growing team of engineers in support of the vision of a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion.The Chiller Technician role is a good fit for a qualified individual who is interested in state-of-the-art technologies and testing methods, system-level integration, and related equipment in a laboratory setting.What You'll DoLarge tonnage chiller operation, in depth diagnostics, troubleshooting and maintenance including Universal Refrigerant Handlers LicenseLow pressure/ Low temperature systemsDX, flooded and absorption systemsReciprocating, Screw, Scroll and Centrifugal compressor operationAir- and water-cooled condensing systemsStrong in reading wiring schematics, electrical troubleshooting complex circuits and systems that may have redundant feeds or mixed voltages up to 480 voltsBe able to track, troubleshoot and diagnose building electrical distributionCompetent in use of multi-meter, megger and signal generator operationUnderstand shut trip operation, gas detection system integration and be able to troubleshoot multi feed systemsSolar Array panel diagnosticsUPS System diagnosticsHigh Voltage capable up to but not limited to 4160 voltsComplete understanding in theory and operation of mechanical pump circuits with bypass control and multiple load sources.
