(New Head Count)AI Disclosure: As part of the application process, Artificial Intelligence will be used in the hiring process for this role.Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Software QA Team Lead to build, mentor, and lead a high-performing quality assurance team supporting software development projects in the mobile or automotive space. This individual will play a critical role in driving quality strategy, improving test processes, supporting team growth, and ensuring high-quality delivery in a fast-paced Agile environment.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild, lead, and mentor an effective QA team to support project delivery and ensure high standards of software qualityManage team capacity and resources efficiently to meet project timelines and quality goalsProvide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to team membersLead the team on including AI in their day-to-day workManage test automation strategies, leverage available tools and track to meet annual goalsMaintain automated test scriptsSupport hiring efforts and contribute to the acquisition of new talentDefine test strategies and test plans aligned to software development plans and project requirementsPartner with the team to design detailed test cases and establish appropriate test environmentsPrepare test reports, perform initial issue analysis, and contribute to defect prevention activitiesDrive continuous improvement in testing processes, tools, and methodologiesCollaborate cross-functionally within Agile or Scrum-based development teamsRequired Skills and Experience10+ years of software quality assurance or testing experience in the mobile or automotive industryBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field required3+ years of experience testing Android-based software3+ years of experience in a leadership capacity such as Scrum Lead, Product Owner, or Team LeadStrong knowledge of software quality assurance methodologies, best practices, and toolsHands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Robot Framework and AppiumProgramming experience in languages such as Python and JavaSolid understanding of Scrum and Agile software development processesKnowledge of connectivity technologiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and deliver results in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, coordination, and interpersonal skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with vehicle communication network protocols such as CAN and EthernetAdvanced degrees and relevant certificationsGM DOES NOT PROVIDE IMMIGRATION-RELATED SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE. Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software quality assurance or testing experience in the mobile or automotive industry (experience, 10 years)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field required (degree in computer science)
  • 3+ years of experience testing Android-based software (experience, 3 years)
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership capacity such as Scrum Lead, Product Owner, or Team Lead (experience, 3 years)
  • Strong knowledge of software quality assurance methodologies, best practices, and tools (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Robot Framework and Appium (experience)
  • Programming experience in languages such as Python and Java (experience)
  • Solid understanding of Scrum and Agile software development processes (experience)
  • Knowledge of connectivity technologies (experience)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (experience)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and deliver results in a fast-paced environment (experience)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination, and interpersonal skills (experience)
