This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Arlington facility on a full-time basis.The Role: The Health Center Physician Assistant or Nursing Practitioner works under the direction of a Health Center Medical Director or physician to support delivery of medical care. They oversee and provide direct patient care and treatment, perform medical examinations, integrate with the health center nurse supervisor, support the site emergency response program, and promote health and well-being in an automotive manufacturing settingWhat You'll Do (Responsibilities):Support Medical Department ObjectivesPractice Medical ExaminationsSupport Disability/WC managementSupport corporate Medical InitiativesIntegrate with Health Center Nurse Supervisor to support the business and business partnersResponsible for the site Emergency Response ProgramPromote Wellness/Wellbeing initiatives at the siteSupport Medical Department ObjectivesFollow GM Medical Department policies and proceduresProvide physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner vacation and absence coverageFollow all Federal and State occupational medical requirements and lawsMaintain all appropriate licensure, certifications, and trainingSupport medical department auditsParticipate in Job Site Evaluations and provide Medical Opinion to support management of the OSHA LogConcisely document all patient medical assessments and treatments in the Electronic Medical RecordClinical Occupational Medicine Practice, Medical Examinations, Support Disability/WC Management, Responsible for the site Emergency Response ProgramDiagnosis and treatment of injuries and illnesses as approved by the Medical Director and may include simple proceduresConduct medical surveillance and medical qualification examinationsParticipate in the management of disability and Workers Compensation including fitness for duty, return to work exams and employee placementLead or participate in preventative occupational health activities: Ergonomics, Bloodborne pathogens, Travel medicineLead or participate in medical emergency response team and activities at the plant level, including assisting/overseeing in training and acting as coordinator as indicatedManage First RespondersSupport Corporate Medical InitiativesTrainingSpecial ProjectsPolicy and Procedure review and creationPartner with the Health Center Nurse Supervisor toProvide Occupational health and medical support, guidance and information to plant manufacturing staff, HR, Union representatives, safety, industrial hygiene, and ergonomics staff as directedPromote Employee Health and WellbeingHealth education and coachingEAP services and supportAttend Plant meetings as requested by the Health Center Nurse SupervisorYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):3+ years of relevant medical experienceGood interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environmentAbility to communicate, motivate, and inspire othersAbility to lead change within work groups and departmentsDemonstrates innovative and strategic thinkingMust be able to work on an Off Shit (2nd Shift and 3rd Shift)Education and Training - PAMaster’s degree in appropriate field requiredPA certification is requiredValid medical license in the State(s) of practiceEducation and Training - NPMaster of Science degree in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice degree requiredBoard certification is requiredValid medical license in the State(s) of practiceThis job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
