Job Description The Construction Project Manager is crucial for managing the full lifecycle of data center design and construction projects. This position exists to ensure projects are delivered effectively, meeting both quality and budgetary targets within predefined timelines. Operating within the strategic directives set by the Head of Construction Project Management, this role is vital for maintaining the standards and growth objectives of the organization.Construction Safety: The Construction Project Manager is directly responsible for enforcing a strict safety culture on site, based on the company’s safety standards.Participate in regular Management EHS walkthroughs and site inspections. Ensure that the general contractor and equipment vendors shall immediately record, address, and resolve site safety issues.In the event of an incident that affects operations or causes damage to property / injury to a worker, the project manager shall lead or coordinate the prompt development of Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and detailed sequence-of-events reporting. Technical Project Execution and Monitoring: Direct day-to-day construction activities, ensuring alignment with agreed project baselines, constraints, and project management processes.Drive and oversee all project phases, providing technical oversight, maintaining stringent control over schedules and budgets, and ensuring effective deployment of resources.Manage the installation and commissioning of critical infrastructure, including diesel generators, UPS, chillers, switchgears, and building monitoring systems. Procurement: Oversee the end-to-end procurement process forhiring of consultants, the general contractor, long leadequipment, as well as processing of supplemental POs whileensuring adherence to project budgets and timelines.Manage vendor pre-qualification, bid tendering, and contractnegotiation, technical evaluation, and Purchase Order issuanceensuring all agreements align with company standards.Cross-Functional Team Leadership Lead diverse cross-functional teams to accomplish project goals, includingconsultants for design, project management, testing andcommissioning, cost control, offshore technical resources, andin-house construction, finance, legal, operations, andprocurement specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance Lead rigorousquality control and assurance programs, ensuring all design andconstruction activities comply with local/international buildingcodes, environmental regulations, and internal qualitybenchmarks, and in accordance with design requirements.Manage the rectification of construction defects, maintain apunchlist of defects and ensure that the defects areremedied/resolved on-time.Advanced Risk Management and Mitigation Proactivelyidentify, analyze, and develop advanced mitigation strategies forcomplex technical, schedule, and operational risks throughoutthe project lifecycle to maintain project integrity and timelines.Enforce strict Method of Procedure (MOP) compliance andimplement change management processes for all high riskactivities.Stakeholder and Vendor Management Cultivate and maintainexceptional relationships with a broad operating network,including clients, government agencies, contractors, communityorganizations, and vendors, to facilitate smooth projectprogression and manage expectationsEnsure that commitment to clients and other stakeholders arefulfilled in a timely manner. Provide regular reports and quicklyflag and escalate project concerns that could affect deliverytimeline, quality, or increase project costs and lead in theresolution of these concerns.Testing and Commissioning: With the help of the CX consultantand in-house commissioning experts, manage the projectthrough all 6 levels of testing and commissioning culminating insuccessful Integrated Systems Testing (IST - CX5) and projecthandover and close-out (CX6) .Ensure full integration of all systems into the Energy & ControlManagement Systems (ECMS), to enable single-screen visibilityfor the operations team.Project Closure and Performance Evaluation Complete allproject deliverables, manage final handovers, and conduct in-depth post-project analysis to capture valuable lessons learnedand report on final project performance against initialobjectives.Lead the review, approval, and ultimate handover of the projectto Operations and the client (when applicable).
