Senior PhysicistPrivate Care at Guys, part of the London Bridge Hospital campus 37.5 hours per week Mon-FriPermanentSalary: Competitive dependent upon experienceWe’re looking for a Senior Physicist to join our team at Private Care at Guy’s, supporting external beam and brachytherapy services on our London Bridge Hospital campus.Across our London sites, we provide scientific and technical support to a Radiotherapy service comprising four TrueBeam linacs, a Gamma Knife, LDR prostate brachytherapy, and Molecular Radiotherapy. There has been significant development and investment in the service, including a growing linac-based SABR service and the installation of an Elekta Unity MR-Linac.The Senior Physicist will play a key role in delivering high-quality radiotherapy physics services, supporting clinical operations, quality assurance, and service development activities. Key dutiesSupport the provision of medical physics services within radiotherapyProvide scientific support to clinical oncologists, radiographers, dosimetrists, and the wider medical physics teamContribute to the development and commissioning of new equipment and techniquesParticipate in research and development projectsAssist in writing reports for new procedures, equipment, and techniques, including commissioning documentation and work instructionsParticipate in routine departmental activities including QA and duty coverSupport compliance with radiation protection legislation and departmental proceduresProvide support, guidance, and training to junior staff, trainees, and studentsCollaborate with senior staff and leadership on service improvements and clinical innovationWhat you’ll bring: HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist in the field of radiotherapy physicsExperience working within a clinical radiotherapy physics environmentAwareness of radiation protection responsibilities (RPS experience advantageous)Experience with Eclipse treatment planning software, Aria OIS, and TrueBeam linacsExperience in LDR brachytherapy and/or Variseed treatment planning softwareWhy HCA UK?Originally founded over 50 years ago by Dr Thomas Frist, HCA has gone on to become one of the world’s leading healthcare providers. Required Qualifications

  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist in the field of radiotherapy physics (experience)
  • Experience working within a clinical radiotherapy physics environment (experience)
  • Awareness of radiation protection responsibilities (RPS experience advantageous) (experience)
  • Experience with Eclipse treatment planning software, Aria OIS, and TrueBeam linacs (experience)
  • Experience in LDR brachytherapy and/or Variseed treatment planning software (experience)

Responsibilities
