This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance. Job Description:Key Responsibilities:Perform inspections on Company units to ensure compliance with all Federal DOT and FHWA, State, and local commercial vehicle regulationsObserve all Company safety requirementsPerform other duties as assignedMaintain a clean and organized work areaEnsure that all defects and deficiencies are noted and documented properly according to Company standardsEnsure that all tires are properly serviced and meet Company standardsPerform minor repairs to Company units (e.g., change lights, install mud flaps, add fluids, etc.) as requiredAssist drivers and co-workers as neededManage availability and inventory of necessary parts, including spare partsPrepare necessary paperwork and direct traffic through the inspection laneQualifications:Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED equivalent OR up to 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and educationAbility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if neededPreferred Qualifications:Ability to exercise discretionAbility to make time-sensitive decisionsAbility to multitaskAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamBasic deductive reasoning skillsBasic experience in truck and trailer maintenanceExperience working in a fast-paced environmentProficient active listening skillsProficient organizational skillsProficient time management skillsSelf-motivationAbility to fulfill physical requirements of the job including: lifting above 50 lbs., bending, stooping, pushing, and pullingAbility to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)$1,500 sign-on bonus available for a limited time!This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.Compensation:Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
