This role gains exposure to market dynamics, carrier negotiation strategies, and tools used to deliver efficient solutions. This role learns about establishing a carrier base and attaining optimal margins while delivering best-in-class service execution.Job Description:Key Responsibilities: • Gain exposure and understanding of the transportation industry • Become involved and participate in daily transportation brokerage activities; verify carrier authenticity, maintain accurate shipment records, and monitor freight movement to uphold service expectations • Build an understanding of market trends, pricing strategies, and capacity challenges that support carrier negotiations and contribute to revenue and margin goals • Observe and practice serving as a liaison between internal stakeholders and carriers: gain competence in how service failures are proactively communicated to minimize cost and operational inefficiencies while providing best-in-class service • Learn about the technology and tools J.B. Hunt leverages to streamline workflows, enable carrier access to load management, and promote efficiencyQualifications:Minimum Qualifications: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program OR graduate degree program in good standing at an accredited college or university.Must be able to work 15-20 hours a week during the school semester.Preferred Qualifications: Junior or Senior level preferredAbility to adapt to a dynamic work environment and shifting priorities and directivesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)Willingness to work flexible hoursThis position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.Compensation:Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
