Application Engineer (Software) - DatacenterWhat you will doThe primary responsibility of this role is to lead global Data Center Building Management System (BMS) engineering projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, customer requirements, and account-specific standards. The role requires independent ownership and execution of projects throughout the entire lifecycle, while serving as the first point of escalation for technical and project-related issues. Ensure adherence to data center-specific engineering and project execution processes, maintain high quality standards through a "First Time Right" approach, and deliver projects on schedule to achieve operational excellence and maximize customer satisfaction.How you will do itReview project inputs like MEP drawings and engineering submittal to generate following deliverables for systems covered into Datacenter ProjectConfiguration of software program for supervisory and DDC level controllersPerform simulation of software and validation reports to prepare for software commissioning package deliveryPrepare FAT, FWT and SAT test script for validation of softwareProvide demo sessions to end customer for functionality check of softwareOptimize database with Trend, Alarm, Point COV managementCoordinate with all stakeholders for clarification on RFI’s & progress trackingPerform FWT test at factory locationProvide remote / onsite support for site commissioning activitiesProvide remote commissioning support to site team for troubleshooting issues, control loop tunning and guide site team with test scriptPerform 3rd party controller integration with different communication protocols like BACnet IP, Modbus and troubleshoot issues with help of software like wireshark, ModScan etc.Ensure quality assurance and defect free software package deliveryAdherence with all processes and guidelines to execute project within timelineDuring pre-bid stage support sales team for providing/validating controls solution for systems into Datacenter project.What we look forBE/ME (Instrumentation / Electrical/ Electronics / Electronics & CommunicationHands on experience with Software Engineering scope for Datacenter VerticalGood Understanding of Data Centre mechanical / electrical systems with expertise for instrumentation and controlAble to handle complex programming for systems like chilled water system, CDU, CRAH, CRAC, AHU with redundancy requirement at equipment or DDC levelKnowledge of HVAC systems from Datacenter vertical like Chilled Water System, Cooling Towers, Primary & Secondary pumping systems, Fluid Coolers, Heat Exchanger, CRAH, CRAC, CDU, Different types of AHUs, FCUs, VAV systems etc.Strong knowledge of BMS architecture with different types of Operator workstations, Supervisory Controllers, DDC controllers, Sensors & Actuators etc.Good understanding Network topology and architectureKnowledge of different types of network protocols like BACNet, LON, Modbus, OPC, and other protocolsAble to handle Modbus, BACnet IP/MSTP integrationMust be proficient in wiring of starters, field devices, safety interlocks & panelsExperience in engineering, installing and commissioning of HVAC & BMS systems for Datacenter projects or other infrastructure projects like pharmaceuticals, airports, commercial buildings, hospitalsMust be a quick learner & should have a keen eye for problem solvingProficient in written and verbal communication Ability to demonstrate good leadership skillsPreferred4 to 8 years of relevant experience in Building Automation Industry Datacenter Vertical, BMS Design Engineering or Industrial Automation.Johnson Controls is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, protected veteran status, status as a qualified individual with a disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
