Join us as a Brazer at our Largo, Florida facility and play a critical role in the production of high-quality HVAC equipment.In this role, you will perform brazing and testing operations to ensure the integrity of copper components and refrigerant systems, contributing directly to product quality and performance.Basic FunctionPerforms brazing operations to join metal components (primarily copper) using filler materials, ensuring strong, leak-free connections that meet quality standards and production requirements.What you will doPerform brazing operations using a gas torch on copper componentsJoin coils, headers, and valve pack materials following detailed instructionsRead and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and shop ordersInspect brazed joints and perform first-article inspections to ensure quality standardsDetect and report defective materials or questionable conditionsMaintain a clean and organized workspace (5S)Follow all safety procedures, including PPE usage, SOPs, and JSAsCollaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments to meet production goalsCommunicate effectively regarding safety, quality, process, or equipment issuesSupport continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies and problem-solving opportunitiesUse computer systems (ERP, Microsoft Office) to track production and inventorySupport overtime, cross-training, and movement between departments as neededPerform other duties as assigned by leadershipHow you will do itFollow standardized brazing procedures and manufacturing processesApply proper techniques to ensure strong, clean, and leak-free jointsOperate within established SOPs and safety protocolsMaintain focus on safety, quality, and productivity in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrate flexibility to support training, overtime, and production demandsWork collaboratively with team members and leadership to achieve operational goalsWhat we look forTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Required:High school diploma or GED requiredCompletion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent experience preferredMinimum of 6 months experience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentAbility to read and interpret blueprints, safety documents, and technical instructionsStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityEffective communication and teamwork skillsAbility to complete JCI Brazer training within 30 days of hirePreferred:Prior brazing, soldering, or welding experienceMilitary experience or technical training in the armed forcesLANGUAGE ABILITYAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.COMPUTER SKILLSBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe employee is regularly exposed to a manufacturing environment, including noise, dust, non-toxic fumes, heat from equipment, and moving machinery.WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to work in a noisy, dusty, industrial environment with exposure to heat and non-toxic fumesAbility to work with machinery, moving parts, cranes, and vehiclesAbility to work at heights, in confined spaces, with ladders or scaffoldingAbility to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbsAbility to perform repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, and armsAbility to stand or walk for extended periods on hard surfacesAbility to bend, crouch, kneel, climb, and reach overheadAbility to work in a non-climate-controlled environmentAbility to work overtime as requiredHIRING HOURLY RANGEHIRING HOURLY RANGE: $19.18 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data.)
