Job DescriptionService Engineer – HVAC ChillersExperience 3–8 yearsEducationDiploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning EngineeringJob SummaryThe Service Engineer – HVAC Chillers is responsible for installation support, preventive maintenance, breakdown service, troubleshooting, and overhauling of HVAC chiller systems. The role ensures optimal performance, reliability, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction across assigned customer sites.Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation & CommissioningSupport installation, commissioning, and start-up of air-cooled and water-cooled chillersVerify system compliance with design specifications and safety standardsCoordinate with project teams, contractors, and customers during commissioningService & MaintenancePerform preventive and corrective maintenance of HVAC chiller systemsDiagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system faultsCarry out overhauls, compressor servicing, oil analysis, and refrigerant handlingEnsure timely closure of service calls and breakdownsTechnical SupportInterpret wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and control logicCalibrate sensors, valves, and control devicesEnsure proper operation of pumps, cooling towers, and associated equipmentMaintain compliance with OEM guidelines and statutory safety normsCustomer ManagementInteract with customers professionally and provide technical explanationsPrepare service reports, root cause analysis (RCA), and recommendationsUpsell AMC, spares, and service upgrades where applicableDocumentation & ComplianceMaintain detailed service records and job reportsFollow EHS guidelines, work permits, and safety proceduresSupport audits and quality improvement initiativesKey Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of HVAC chiller systems (screw, centrifugal, scroll, reciprocating)Hands-on experience with refrigerants (R134a, R410A, R407C, etc.)Electrical troubleshooting (motors, VFDs, starters, panels)Familiarity with BMS, PLCs, and control systemsAnalytical and problem-solving skillsGood communication and customer-handling skillsWillingness to travel and work on-siteDesired Certifications (Preferred)HVAC / RAC CertificationOEM Chiller Training (Carrier, Trane, Daikin, York, etc.)Electrical Safety / EHS CertificationWork ConditionsField-based role requiring travel to customer sitesMay require working in shifts, weekends, or during emergenciesPhysically capable of working in plant rooms and industrial environmentsWhy Join Us?Opportunity to work on advanced HVAC chiller technologiesExposure to premium customers and complex installationsCareer growth, technical training, and certification opportunities
