Job Description
Responsibility Level:The Product Engineer responsible to contribute to the product team through product design, testing, data analysis, and project management. The Principal Engineer will also support the manufacturing of the product representing the design team through initiating and executing design changes. All of these tasks require strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present information to engineering teammates, engineering managers, and product management. The Principal Engineer is responsible to develop and maintain skill sets and work practices to align with the expectations and needs of the organization. Principal Duties (as related to functional responsibilities):Maintains understanding of theories, concepts, technical principles, and processes related to mechanical aspects of water-cooled chillersWorks independently with minimal direction. Has proficiency in mechanical design and be able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the productWork closely with the design and drafting group in generating layout concepts and system configurationsProficient at preparing, checking, and coordinating the release of documentation to support component design. Uses expertise to provide instruction and guidance to others.Contributes to the on-time completion of programs and regularly reports on the status of projects. Able to represent Engineering in cross functional activities.Prepare and help execute test programs to verify performance and reliability of mechanical sub-components and systemsAnalyzes, designs, modifies and/or troubleshoots mechanical sub-components and sub-systems based on data and techniques requiring regular use of ingenuity and creativityApplies mechanical codes such as GB, CCC and ASMEPossesses knowledge of manufacturing processes and applies the philosophy of designing to standard manufacturing processStrives for continuous improvement and teamwork in product development and processesOccasional domestic and international travel (less than 20%) Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.BS in Engineering or related science, MS preferredMinimum 2 years’ HVACR experience in a related fieldStrong understanding of fluid and thermal principlesStrong product development background in a manufacturing environment would be a plusProficient with Microsoft Office as well as Internet softwareFluent English skill in reading, listening, written and oral.
