SITUATION MANAGER (M/F/D)

full-timePosted: Jan 17, 2026Handewitt, SH, Germany

Job Description

Description

Do you have a passion for fighting fires and a talent for preventing them in the first place? Can you combine deep technical expertise with outstanding communication skills to lead a team through a crisis? If you are someone who remains calm, thinks clearly, and makes qualified decisions when the pressure is on, then you might be the Situation Manager we are looking for!

WHAT WE OFFER YOU

This is a role with real, immediate impact where you will be at the forefront of our most critical operations. We offer a unique and dynamic dual role that combines the thrill of high-stakes incident management with the deep satisfaction of proactive engineering, and we will invest in your professional growth to ensure you master both. You will be a vital part of protecting our business and customers, with the full support of a collaborative team and the autonomy to make a difference.

Furthermore, we offer you:

  • Continuous Growth: We provide dedicated opportunities for certifications, training (e.g., in advanced security, observability, or incident command), and attendance at conferences.
  • A Collaborative Environment: You will join a supportive team and a dedicated "Community of Practice" with fellow Situation Managers to share knowledge, refine strategies, and perfect the art of incident response.

You can find more information about our benefits here.

WHAT YOUR NEXT JOB WILL BE ABOUT

This is a hybrid role with two core functions.

First, you are our Situation Manager. When a major IT incident strikes, you will take charge. You will lead the response, coordinate cross-functional technical teams, manage all stakeholder communication, and drive the issue to resolution with confidence and clarity.

Second, you are our TechOps Software Engineer. In your day-to-day work, you will focus on preventing future incidents. This involves advanced technical support, bug hunting, and root cause analysis with a special focus on enhancing our security posture and system observability. You will proactively harden our systems and improve our monitoring capabilities to ensure we can detect and resolve issues faster than ever before.

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING

We are looking for a new colleague with:

  • Incident Management: Demonstrated experience in leading incident response efforts, coordinating technical teams, and facilitating blameless post-mortems.
  • Software Engineering Experience: Proven professional experience in a technical role such as Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Senior Technical Support, or Software Development, preferably with Java-based backend systems.
  • Firefighting Skills: An exceptional ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive in high-pressure situations.
  • Communication Mastery: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical Foundation: A strong understanding of observability principles (monitoring, logging, tracing) and IT security best practices.
