About the RoleKBR is seeking a Construction Manager to support the successful delivery of complex engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects within its infrastructure and energy portfolio.This role is responsible for leading site-based construction activities, ensuring alignment with project execution plans, contractual obligations, and client requirements from mobilisation through to final handover.Operating as a central point of coordination across multidisciplinary teams, the Construction Manager integrates engineering, procurement, and construction functions to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes within defined schedule and budget constraints.The position requires active engagement with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders while maintaining consistent oversight of performance, compliance, and risk.Through structured planning, detailed reporting, and effective communication, the role ensures construction activities are executed efficiently and in accordance with industry standards.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all on-site construction activities across assigned projects, ensuring alignment with approved execution strategies and project objectivesOversee contractors and subcontractors to ensure work is performed in accordance with specifications, schedules, and quality standardsMonitor project progress against milestones, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to maintain delivery timelinesEnsure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and regulatory requirements across all site operationsReview and approve construction methodologies, work plans, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systemsCoordinate closely with engineering, procurement, and project controls teams to ensure seamless integration of project phasesManage cost performance by tracking expenditures, supporting budget control, and contributing to forecasting and reporting activitiesFacilitate communication between clients, consultants, and site teams, providing regular updates on project status and key deliverablesLead site inspections, quality assurance processes, and resolution of technical or operational issues during construction executionExperience Required EssentialSignificant experience managing construction activities on large-scale EPC or infrastructure projectsProven experience overseeing subcontractors and multi-disciplinary site teamsDemonstrated experience managing project schedules, budgets, and cost control activitiesSMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificationDesirableExperience working on energy, utilities, or major infrastructure programmesFamiliarity with project management tools such as Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling softwareExperience within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) or client-side environmentTechnical Skills/KnowledgeExperience interpreting construction drawings and technical specificationsExperience managing construction activities on EPC projectsExperience using Primavera P6 or equivalent project scheduling toolExperience managing construction schedules and cost performanceQualifications/CertificationsEssentialBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related disciplineValid CSCS card or equivalent site certification for construction management rolesSMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificationDesirableChartered status or membership with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or equivalent professional bodyNEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualificationLocation Reading/Bristol/Plymouth - hybrid working with a mix of office-based and remote working.Security Requirements SC Clearance Due to the secure nature of this project, restrictions in relation to UK residency and nationality will applyKBR Benefits & More Belong.
