Job Description

Title:Lead Piping DesignerKBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.KBR is looking for a Lead Piping Designer under broad direction, supervises and leads a group of designers. Provides technical direction over a group and is responsible for employee performance appraisals and for coaching and developing lower-level professionals. Plans, budgets, organizes, and controls an important segment of a very extensive and highly diversified engineering program or an entire engineering program of moderate scope. Job role is responsible for a measurable asset such as an assigned staff and budget.Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Responsible for design, specification and services related to piping systems and piping layout including piping material selection, piping material line classes, standard and specialty piping components, pressure, weight and thermal analysis of piping systems, vibration analysis and piping support systems.May lead of team of designers on multiple independent projects. Will be responsible for the overall budget, schedule, and quality of the piping group on assigned projects.Assist in conducting Piping reviews of all project packages prior to IFC to ensure that quality procedures were followedReview project design estimates and work scopes for each new projectCoordination of scope in a multi office environmentRequired Education, Experience, & Skills:Minimum 15 years of applicable industry piping/mechanical experience within the chemical and industrial industryProficiency with 3D Piping software (E3D preferred) & 2D MicroStation or AutoCAD is required.
