Required Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a Secret Clearance. Due to this, you must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for this position. (experience)
• Associate’s degree and/or course work towards a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or other related discipline is preferred. In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credits, other formalized training or education, and directly related work experience may be considered. (experience)
• Must have 8 years of directly related work experience including 2 years of supervisory experience in a motor transport environment. (experience, 8 years)
• Must have completed the motor transport maintenance officer course, or equivalent. (experience)
• Requires the ability to review and apply technical specifications and requirements. (experience)
• The ability to analyze equipment and forecast spare part equipment is required. (experience)
• Must have the ability to analyze maintenance repair or operation to determine methods of improvement. (experience)
• Must have strong written and oral communication skills. (experience)

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of mechanics who are performing automotive mechanic duties to inspection, all levels of maintenance, and repair of light/medium wheeled vehicles.
• Supervises and coordinates activities of mechanics engaged in repairing, adjusting, servicing, and storing motor vehicles.
• Responsible for equipment readiness, maintenance shop organizations, control of maintenance assets and providing advice on all matters relating to light/medium wheeled vehicle maintenance.
• Ensure mechanics are properly trained in all maintenance functions.
• Determines sequence and assignment of work based on work priority and quantity of equipment to obtain optimal use of equipment, facilities, and personnel.
• Keeps inventory of repair parts and equipment and requisitions replacement stock. Inspects work performed to ensure compliance with specifications and time schedules.
• Interpret specifications, drawing, work orders, technical instructions, and layouts.
• Coordinates department activities with other departments.
• Ensures compliance with administrative policies, procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Ensures employees adhere to all safety requirements, procedures, and policies.
• Supervise and manage the administration of workspace for motor transport equipment repair.
• Recommend changes to procedures as appropriate.
• Complies with and ensures compliance with all MCPP ISO-9002 policies and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
