These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.**This role may be based in either our Bangalore or Chennai office**Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Offshore Structural Department Manager to lead and manage our offshore structural engineering discipline across global operations.This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of structural engineering solutions across offshore oil & gas, marine, and energy transition projects.You will serve as the technical authority for offshore structural engineering while providing governance, leadership, and strategic direction across all activities—including topsides, jackets, floating systems, and associated infrastructure—aligned with KBR’s engineering management systems, project requirements, and industry standards.Key Responsibilities1. Department Leadership & StrategyLead and develop the Offshore Structural Engineering Department across global execution centersEstablish and continuously improve structural engineering standards, procedures, and best practices in line with KBR management systemsAlign departmental strategy with business growth objectives and project delivery goalsSupport capability development and strengthen offshore positioning for future projects2. Technical Authority & GovernanceAct as the technical authority for offshore structural engineeringEnsure compliance with:International codes and standardsProject specifications and contractual requirementsKBR Engineering Management Systems and proceduresApprove design philosophies, methodologies, and key technical decisionsEvaluate and approve deviations from standards where required3. Project Delivery OversightOversee delivery across all project phases:Pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Engineering, and PMCEnsure execution of:Topsides structures (process modules, living quarters, bridges)Jackets and substructuresFloating systems (FPSO and offshore platforms)Structural modelling, analysis, and weight engineeringEnsure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standardsDrive seamless integration with multidisciplinary teams4. Resource & Capability ManagementPlan, recruit, and manage offshore structural engineering resourcesDevelop competency frameworks and structured training programsBuild a high-performing global delivery team leveraging multi-location talent5. Proposal & Estimation SupportLead structural engineering inputs for bids and proposalsProvide:Manhour estimatesProject scheduling inputsTechnical solutions and value engineering proposalsSupport business development and winning strategies6. Quality Assurance & Technical AuditsEnsure compliance with KBR Quality Management SystemsLead discipline audits and technical reviewsDrive continuous improvement and implement lessons learned7. Stakeholder & Interface ManagementCollaborate with:Project Engineering Managers and discipline leadsClients and engineering partnersFabrication yards and construction teamsEnsure strong coordination across disciplines (Mechanical, Piping, E&I, Marine)8. Digital & Engineering SystemsPromote adoption of digital engineering and 3D modelling practicesEnsure effective use of structural analysis tools (e.g., SACS, SESAM)Maintain integrity and consistency of engineering dataKey DeliverablesStructural engineering deliverables across the full project lifecycleDepartment resourcing and competency development plansEngineering compliance and audit reportsProposal estimates and technical documentationContinuous improvement and knowledge-sharing initiativesQualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)20+ years of offshore structural engineering experienceBelong.
