Title:Payroll AccountantKBR is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join the Global Payroll Accounting team in Chennai, India. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of payroll accounting activities across a complex global organization. The successful candidate will work closely with Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, and other stakeholders to support accurate financial reporting and drive process improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain payroll-related general ledger accounts and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries, including wages, taxes, benefits, accruals, and other compensation-related transactions.Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of payroll accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.Support month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion.Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, schedules, and analyses.Assist with payroll system implementations, upgrades, testing, and data validation.Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and control enhancements.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.3+ years of payroll accounting, general accounting, or related finance experience in a corporate environment.Preferred experiencesExperience with payroll and ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Workday Payroll, ADP, or SAP.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Power BI and data analysis tools.Effective communication skills in English with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.Experience working in a large, complex, matrixed organization supporting multiple business units.Hands-on experience with payroll funding, benefits remittances, and statutory payments.Cross-Functional Collaboration.Familiarity with payroll interfaces, system integrations, and data flow between payroll and ERP platforms.#LI-LR1
