Reporting to the Discipline Manager - Civil, you'll remain hands-on in project delivery while helping drive team performance, capability development, resource planning and technical excellence.This role has a strong focus on Main Roads WA projects and requires a leader who can confidently navigate road planning, concept design, detailed design, design assurance, and construction support activities.Key Responsibilities:You'll be responsible for:Leading and mentoring a team of road engineers and designersDelivering road design packages from concept through to detailed design and construction supportProviding technical oversight and guidance across transport infrastructure projectsEnsuring compliance with Main Roads WA standards, Austroads Guides, Australian Standards and project-specific requirementsSupporting design reviews, technical assurance activities and Safety in Design processesManaging interfaces across drainage, pavements, structures, traffic, utilities, environmental and geotechnical disciplinesBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teamsSupporting project planning, forecasting, budgeting and commercial delivery objectivesContributing to bids, proposals and business development activitiesDriving continuous improvement, technical excellence and knowledge sharing within the teamSkills & Experience Required:A Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification12+ years' experience in roads engineering designDemonstrated experience delivering road and transport infrastructure projectsStrong knowledge of Austroads Guides, Australian Standards and road authority requirementsExperience working on Main Roads WA projects and applying MRWA standards and supplementsProven capability in road geometry, alignment, intersection and multidisciplinary transport designExperience leading, mentoring or developing engineers and technical teamsStrong stakeholder engagement and communication skillsCommercial awareness and the ability to balance technical quality with project outcomesChartered Engineer status (or progress towards chartership) will be highly regardedDesirable Experience:Experience in any of the following will be advantageous:Alliance, Design & Construct or major infrastructure project environmentsOpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD and AutoTURNProjectWise, Bluebeam and GIS platformsConstruction support, staging and traffic management interfacesAbout KBR:KBR is renowned for working in partnership with our clients and construction partners to deliver exceptional outcomes based on our collaborative approach and our “One Team” value.Creating a superb culture is also huge for us and a key part of our success and growth.
