By joining KBR, you become part of a team that works together, shares common values and is united in delivering great outcomes.We're looking for a Utilities Designer to join our growing infrastructure team and contribute to the planning, design and coordination of utility services across a diverse portfolio of projects.This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside multidisciplinary specialists and play a key role in delivering innovative, sustainable and high-quality utility solutions.The OpportunityAs a Utilities Designer, you will support the delivery of utility and civil infrastructure design solutions across transport, water, energy, defence, urban development and major infrastructure projects.You'll work closely with engineers, project managers and digital engineering teams to develop utility investigations, design documentation, service relocations and protection strategies throughout the project lifecycle.What You'll DoKey responsibilities include:Preparing utility designs, drawings and models for:Water and sewer servicesStormwater drainage systemsGas networksElectrical distribution systemsTelecommunications infrastructureRecycled water and other utility servicesDeveloping concept, preliminary and detailed design documentationConducting utility investigations and interpreting survey and service informationAssisting with utility relocation, adjustment and protection designsProducing utility layouts, service coordination plans and clash detection assessmentsSupporting design reviews and incorporating client and stakeholder feedbackCoordinating activities with engineers, designers, drafters and external stakeholdersPreparing technical reports, design calculations and project documentationParticipating in utility coordination meetings and technical workshopsSupporting project delivery to scope, schedule and budget requirementsEnsuring compliance with relevant standards, authority requirements and project specificationsAbout YouWe're looking for someone who brings a combination of technical expertise, collaboration and a proactive approach to problem-solving.EssentialExperience in utilities design within engineering consulting, infrastructure or construction environmentsProficiency with: AutoCAD and Microstation, ideally also Civil 3DKnowledge of utility authority standards and requirementsStrong understanding of utility coordination and clash managementAbility to interpret engineering drawings, survey information and utility recordsExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsDesirableExperience delivering major transport, defence, water or urban infrastructure projectsKnowledge of BIM workflows and digital engineering practicesExperience using GIS platforms and utility management systemsUnderstanding of Austroads and applicable Australian StandardsExperience working within multidisciplinary project teamsAt KBR, we value you – here’s how.While our people are busy delivering leading science, technology, and engineering solutions, we’re committed to providing them with a supportive, trusting environment and benefits that enable them to thrive and continue doing what they do best.Benefits include:Industry leading salaries reviewed annually.20 Days of annual leave per year + the ability to accrue an additional 8 hours every 4 weeks (33 days in total)Flexible work arrangements (start/finish times, WFH, Flex time)Salary packaging and novated leasesPaid professional membership feesLife/Health insurance discountsEmployee stock purchase plansPersonal career development plansGrowth and promotion opportunitiesGreat office environment with fantastic facilitiesAccess to health benefits programsHelp shape tomorrow by applying today!Our people are the heart of everything we do.   • Coordinating activities with engineers, designers, drafters and external stakeholders
  • Preparing technical reports, design calculations and project documentation
  • Participating in utility coordination meetings and technical workshops
  • Supporting project delivery to scope, schedule and budget requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, authority requirements and project specifications
