Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The LS-SWIFT Division of KLA’s Global Products Group provides patterned wafer inspection systems for high-volume semiconductor manufacturing. Its mission is to deliver market-leading cost of ownership in defect detection for a broad range of applications in the production of semiconductors. Customers from the foundry, logic, memory, automotive, MEMS, advanced packaging and other markets rely upon high-sample wafer inspection information generated by LS-SWIFT products. LS (Laser Scanning) systems enable cost-effective patterned wafer defect detection for the industry’s most sophisticated process technologies deployed in leading-edge foundry, logic, DRAM, and NAND fabs. SWIFT (Simultaneous Wafer Inspection at Fast Throughput) systems deliver all-wafer-surface (frontside, backside, and edge) macro inspection that is critical for automotive IC, MEMS, and advanced packaging processes as well as foundry/logic and memory fabs. LS-SWIFT operates from a global footprint that includes the US, Singapore, India and Germany, and serves a worldwide customer base across Asia, Europe and North America.Job Description/Preferred QualificationsKey Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership: Define and drive the long-term vision and roadmap for distributed IMC software infrastructure supporting image computing clusters.Team Development: Build, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of software engineers and technical leaders.Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product, hardware, and algorithm teams to align infrastructure capabilities with evolving image processing and AI requirements.Platform Architecture: Oversee the design and implementation of scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems optimized for hybrid CPU/GPU workloads.Lifecycle Management: Lead the end-to-end development of image computing platforms, from requirements gathering through deployment and maintenance, using best-in-class project management practices.Developer Enablement: Deliver robust software platforms and tools that empower engineers to develop, test, and deploy new image processing and deep learning algorithms efficiently.Innovation in Hybrid Computing: Spearhead the integration of traditional image processing and AI/DL techniques into a unified hybrid computing architecture, leveraging modern HPC technologies. Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience:10+ years of experience in software engineeringProven track record in building and scaling distributed systems, preferably in HPC or cloud-native environments.Experience with image processing, computer vision, or AI/ML infrastructure is highly desirable.Technical Skills:Deep Understanding of distributed computing frameworks & Linux Systems ProgrammingProficiency in C++, Python, and/or other systems programming languages.Working knowledge of container technologies, orchestration frameworks (e.g., Kubernetes), and workflow automation.Familiarity with GPU computing and hybrid CPU/GPU architectures.Strong grasp of software development best practices, CI/CD, and DevOps principles.Leadership & Communication:Demonstrated ability to lead and drive functional teams.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical fieldWe offer a competitive, family friendly total rewards package.
