Kodiak Robotics, Inc. was founded in 2018 and has become a leader in autonomous ground transportation committed to a safer and more efficient future for all. The company has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) powered technology stack purpose-built for commercial trucking and the public sector. The company delivers freight daily for its customers across the southern United States using its autonomous technology. In 2024, Kodiak became the first known company to publicly announce delivering a driverless semi-truck to a customer. Kodiak is also leveraging its commercial self-driving software to develop, test and deploy autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense.This is an opportunity to collaborate and grow with world-class robotics engineers on Kodiak’s motion planning team. You will receive mentorship from senior and staff engineers, who will help you scope progressively larger projects and career development opportunities.The role offers exposure to cutting-edge routing algorithms and unsolved problems, as well as collaboration with Planning, Perception, and Infrastructure colleagues. In this role, you will: Implement mission planning and routing for driverless operation on public roads Collaborate with colleagues working on human-assisted autonomy at the frontier of Kodiak’s operating domain Contribute to the architecture and long-term roadmap for motion planning Integrate onboard and offboard driving logic Create visualizations and tooling for route policy introspection Automate and expedite map updates Solve deep technical problems involving route generation, mapping, real-time and cloud computing, and more!
