With a capacity of 1,749 and in the heart of the city centre, 10 minutes from the railway station, amidst cafes, restaurants and shops it's the place to be!About youSuccessful background in the live entertainment industry or venue managementExperience of working as a manager or in an operational roleProven track record in managing live performances and eventsKnowledge of health and safety regulations and licensingExcellent communication and diplomacy skillsProficient in Microsoft Office packagesUnderstanding of booking and promotion of live eventsGood control of operating costs and budgetingSelf-motivated and results drivenWhat we needPersonal licence holderFirst-class client and customer serviceDemonstrable leadership and motivation of othersPassionate and enthusiastic for the live events industryFlexibility to work irregular hours (weekends/evenings/public holidays)Willingness to build positive working relationshipsA proactive organiser in problem-solving who can negotiate solutionsWhat the role includesDeputise for the General Manager in overseeing all venue operations and departmentsDuty manage events and programming to the highest standardWork collaboratively with the venue team, head office and Southampton City Council.Act as a point of contact and venue liaison for all contracted events and touring partiesMaximise the events diary with the General ManagerMaintain first-rate relationships with clients and partnersSupport the general manager in forecasting and budgetingTrack and review cost estimates and expensesContribute to the Company business objectives and commercial targetsLiaise with outsourced contractors and service providersEnsure all paperwork and reporting is completed and professionally retainedAssist the General Manager in all licencing administration and risk assessmentAdhere to all existing and new health and safety legislationComply with all company guidelines and working practicesEnsure the venue is maintained to the highest standardsCommunicate any building or department issues to the General ManagerLine management and training of team members as requiredTo publicly represent the venue and company in a professional mannerEqual OpportunitiesWe are passionate and committed to our people and go beyond the rhetoric of diversity and inclusion.
