Job Overview Macy’s Checker Markers perform all functions related to processing merchandise. Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, while part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12-24 hours per week. What You Will Do Read header instructions to determine the scanning, marking and audit requirements of each shipment Unpack merchandise for processing Produce needed bar-codes Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities Who You Are No Education or Experience Required Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team Must be proficient in the use of computers and handheld technology Ability to work a flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays Essential Physical Requirements You Will Perform This position requires constant moving, talking, hearing, lifting, standing, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 50lbs., stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders Reaching, including above eye level Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment Supply Chain Only and Colleagues Working in a Supply Chain Facility except in locations governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement: Random drug testing for all colleagues will be conducted on a monthly or semi-monthly basis, depending upon factors including but not limited to the size of the facility and the number of colleagues on roll. Colleagues will be randomly selected for testing by a third party. Testing must be completed on the same workday the colleague is informed of selection for testing, absent extenuating circumstances.
