Job Overview The Senior Analyst, Digital Finance and Special Projects (Temp) role is responsible for delivering strategic financial analysis and advanced modeling to support decision-making across Macy's, Inc. This position develops and manages complex financial models that evaluate investment opportunities, forecast costs and benefits, and enable scenario planning through dynamic assumptions. The position requires strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from multiple sources to generate actionable insights and influence business strategy. Success in this role requires the ability to navigate complex business challenges, build strong cross-functional partnerships, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and maintain flexibility during critical project phases while delivering high-quality financial insights that support organizational objectives and long-term growth. What You Will Do Provide strategic and detailed analytical modeling that drives decision-making for Macy’s Inc. Manage and create the most complex financial models that project future cost and benefits and the ability to toggle on a variety of assumptions to aid with scenario modeling. Build and Maintain partnerships across the organization and the ability to navigate complex topics by demonstrating a strong creative mindset and approach to getting work done. The position requires a high degree of flexibility to support peak work loads during critical phases of projects and the ability to balance multiple objectives at once. Partner closely with Procurement & Strategy to support RFP processes and other financial modeling as needed. Experience with Organizational and Enterprise transformational projects a plus. Extract, manipulate and analyze data from various data sources to influence and support business strategies. Prepare ad hoc analysis, financial reporting and presentations for senior management. Collaborate with key business leaders across various departments including but not limited to Capital Planning, Strategy, Mtech, Finance, Customer & Digital. Support and Prepare Capital Expenditure Requests (CERs) in partnership with Capital Planning to Support Customer & Digital capital initiatives. Support monthly and annual planning and forecasting of capital investments. Prepare and support various Capital Lookback projects to understand actual performance vs original pro forma assumptions. Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities. Skills You Will Need Financial Analysis and Planning: Expertise in evaluating P&Ls, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial modeling to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, while developing actionable strategies to drive business growth. Cross-functional Collaboration: Strong ability to collaborate across teams, including Finance, Accounting, Technology, Analytics, Product, Logistics, and Strategy, to align business goals and support store initiatives. Financial Modeling and Reporting: Experience in conducting in-depth financial analysis, building models, and creating ad hoc reports to assess and present the impact of store initiatives and drive decision-making. Leadership and Team Management: Proven ability to lead, mentor, manage workloads, and promote quality, accuracy, and thoroughness in financial forecasting, planning, and analysis. Strategic Thinking and Problem Solving: Strong strategic and creative thinking skills to assess complex financial scenarios, identify opportunities, and implement solutions that drive business performance. Communication and Presentation: Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly and concisely to senior leadership and stakeholders at various levels. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office, with knowledge of Google BigQuery being a plus, and the ability to leverage technology to improve financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting processes. Professional Maturity and Discretion: Ability to handle highly sensitive information with a high level of professionalism, maturity, and discretion. Who You Are Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 5+ years of related experience required. This role involves performing essential job functions such as communication, collaboration, and use of office and computer systems.
