Job Description

The Product Analyst Intern supports the Canada Retirement Product team by contributing to product research, member experience analysis, business insights, and delivery activities. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in product management within a large, regulated financial services organization.The successful candidate will work closely with Product Managers, Digital, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Marketing teams to support initiatives that improve retirement plan member experiences, drive business outcomes, and enhance operational efficiency.This internship is ideal for a student who is passionate about data, technology, customer experience, and solving complex business problems.ResponsibilitiesProduct Analysis & ResearchSupport the Product team in analyzing member, sponsor, and business needs to identify opportunities for product enhancements.Conduct market, industry, and competitive research to support product strategy and business cases.Assist in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide actionable insights and recommendations.Support the development of business requirements, process maps, user stories, and product documentation.Contribute to member journey mapping and customer experience assessments.Product Delivery SupportAssist Product Managers in coordinating product initiatives and enhancement projects.Participate in cross-functional meetings and support project tracking activities.Help validate business requirements and support testing activities during product releases.Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), product adoption, and customer experience metrics.Support the preparation of materials for governance meetings, executive updates, and stakeholder presentations.Analytics & ReportingCreate reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate product performance and business insights.Analyze operational, customer, and digital experience data to identify trends and opportunities.Support ongoing measurement of strategic initiatives and product enhancements.Assist with ad hoc data analysis and research requests.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with stakeholders across Product, Digital, Technology, Operations, Compliance, Marketing, and Customer Experience teams.Contribute ideas and recommendations to improve member experiences and operational effectiveness.Support documentation and knowledge-sharing activities within the Product organization.Job RequirementsCurrently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Business, Commerce, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Interest in product management, digital experiences, financial services, or customer experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.Ability to organize information, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.Experience with data analysis, visualization tools, or user research is considered an asset.CompetenciesCuriosity and a passion for learning.Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.Demonstrated initiative and ownership of assigned work.Ability to communicate insights clearly and effectively.Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.Customer-focused mindset.Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Ability to synthesize information and make evidence-based recommendations.What You'll GainExposure to end-to-end product management in a leading financial services organization.Experience working on strategic digital and member experience initiatives.Opportunities to collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.Development of business analysis, product management, and stakeholder management skills.Hands-on experience using data and customer insights to drive business decisions.At Manulife/John Hancock, we embrace our diversity.
