Job SummaryThe Senior Technical Enterprise Data Steward is expected to make several key contributions to the organization, primarily focused on managing and maintaining the quality, integrity, and accessibility of data across MVW. The Senior Technical Enterprise Data Steward focuses on overseeing and managing the organization's data, systems, or resources to ensure they are used efficiently, securely, and in compliance with internal standards and regulations. This role will work with our Global Technology (GT) partners to ensure data and technology align with the MVW’s strategic Data Enablement vision, ensuring that systems and data are aligned with business goalsThe job responsibilities are a combination of technical and data enablement activities; including implementing and managing data enablement policies, standards, and procedures, adding and maintaining data assets in the data catalog, monitoring data quality across systems, and working with the appropriate resources to resolve any issues that may ariseOverall, the Senior Technical Enterprise Data Steward plays a critical role in ensuring that the data across the organization is treated as an asset, properly managed, and effectively used to drive business insights and decision-makingExpected ContributionsProvide technical advice and support to existing Data Enablement tools (e.g. APIs, data pipelines, schedules, Power BI reports) and help implement enhancements to existing design to ensure their technical efficiencyEnsure compliance data is available as expected for auditing purposes. Monitor data pipeline performance and troubleshoot data-related issues in a timely mannerProvide Enterprise level support and guidance for data stewards including:Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the Data Catalog and Data Quality tool along with guiding new users through the training process for both toolsAssist with issue resolutionPartnering with the business and GT to define standards and ensuring compliancePartner with data stewards and GT to ensure complete data lineage is available and accuratePartner with Privacy and Security teams to ensure data assets have the appropriate controls in placeSupport Data Catalog curation and management by ensuring assets are added appropriately and maintained correctlyIdentify areas of opportunity to drive reduction of redundancies and inefficiencies with a focus on leveraging existing available dataServe as a liaison between business stakeholders and GT departments for data-related concernsIdentify and resolve data quality issues in collaboration with data owners and business stakeholdersAssist in data impact assessments for new projects, system changes or data migrationsStrong knowledge of data governance and how it impacts business decisionsDevelops an understanding of MVW business processes and how they interact with MVW applications.Works collaboratively with business users to understand complexities of the business and ensure timely exchange of information, user satisfaction, and process improvementsAssists in special projects as requiredPerforms other duties as neededCandidate ProfileEducationBachelor’s degree in Computer science, Data Science, or a related fieldExperience5+ years of experience in data engineering related roles, performing activities such as: development of ETLs, Data Pipelines, Lakehouses and PowerBI ReportingAt least 3+ years of experience in data governance, data stewardship or related fieldsExperience working with data.world or similar data cataloging platformsExperience with Data Quality Rule implementationDevelopment experience with business intelligence tools, such as Power BIHospitality and/or Timeshare experience preferred but not mandatorySkills and Attributes:Strong experience in Microsoft Fabric, APIs, Data Pipelines, JSON, PowerBI development, Warehouses, and ETL technologiesStrong understanding of data quality, governance, and security principlesExperience with Data Quality Tools and Metadata Management systemsExcellent organizational, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders#imvwcorp#LI-GD1Marriott Vacations Worldwide is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive culture.
