The Finance - Global Construction Controller team is looking for a Construction Controls Manager to support regional (Japan/North Asia) construction projects. We are looking for a person who has successfully led construction capital spend, improving operational performance, and delivering outstanding outcomes.The Construction Controls Manager drives financial construction controls across a regional construction portfolio. You will work in a fast-paced and multifaceted environment influencing decisions and driving outcomes. You will analyze construction budgets and spending, ensuring investments meet corporate targets and cash flow needs.Key Responsibilities:Act as a key liaison between Finance and construction teamsPartner with our global team of regional Construction ControllersFacilitate cross-functional collaborationAttend construction project meetings to collect real time views of progress, risks, and opportunitiesHighlight opportunities to reduce risk and improve cost, schedule, and cashflowFinancial Management & Reporting:Generate and maintain project dashboards on construction cost, schedule, cashflow and riskEnsure accurate reporting of actual and forecast values. Evaluate and explain variancesMaintain financial transparency across construction projectsBudgeting & Forecasting:Partner with construction teams to develop accurate baseline and forecasted costsValidate estimates and improve forecast accuracyCollect and maintain historical data including costs, schedules, and scopeDrive for best-in-class construction and facility cost by understanding competitive benchmarks and internal objectivesCapital Governance:Improve capital allocation processes compliance (e.g. initial approvals and change management) to achieve greater value for the companyDevelop budget walks and lessons learned with construction teams during project execution and at project completionLeverage and align construction and capital finance tools (Procore, SAP, Snowflake)Compliance & ControlsEnsure adherence with Micron construction processes across jurisdictionsParticipate in project control improvement efforts leveraging best practicesAnalyze project data and reports to identify risks and opportunitiesPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in construction, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or related fieldExperience in project controls, quantity surveying, financial management focused on constructionExpertise in capital project controls or quantity surveying (e.g. estimating, scheduling, cost control, earned value, risk management)Proficiency in analytical and data visualization toolsDemonstrated use of AI toolsExperience overseeing financial expenditure on large capital programs in manufacturing, semiconductor, or high-tech industriesAmbitious, intellectually curious, high-energy level, passionate about identifying and implementing improvement opportunitiesAbility to perform in an environment characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguityStrategic thinking and problem-solvingStrong communication and stakeholder engagement in Japanese and EnglishAbility to build strong interpersonal relationshipsOrganized and meticulous, with a strong focus on accuracyExperience within or exposure to finance, accounting, financial controllingMBA a plusAbout Micron Technology, Inc.We are an industry leader in innovative memory and storage solutions transforming how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
