The position promises ample opportunities for innovation, collaboration and testing a new dimension and scaling with next generation NAND. You will work directly with process integration and other process areas such as Wet etch, CVD, Diffusion, Metals, Lithography & CMP. You will work on state of the art and best in class dry etch chambers & own the process roadmap to meet program and yield goals. Your responsibilities include, but not limited to: Job Responsibilities: Developing dry etch processes to meet the physical & electrical requirements of Micron’s products.Optimizing dry etch processes to reduce cost, process variability, and improve process capabilityCollaborating with process integration and other process development teams to develop innovative new solutionsConducting root cause and failure mode analysis to understand the limitations of current hardware and driving vendors for solutionsPerforming fundamental research to drive innovative solutions for next-generation productsMaintaining a technology development pilot manufacturing lineSupport process transfer to production facilities (some domestic and/or international travel may be required) Qualifications & Skills: Demonstrate research and development aptitude in science and engineering fields Examples of experimental design and data analysisStrong analytical and creative problem-solving skillsAbility to use extensive technical knowledge to guide strategic directionsAbility to resolve complex issues through root-cause or model-based problem solvingProficiency in statistics (preferred) and in statistical process controlAbility to work independently, with minimal direction, and a focus on meeting commitmentsAbility to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneouslyFundamental knowledge of at least one of the following: transport phenomena, dry etch processing, kinetic theory, statistical thermodynamics, or plasma physicsData science basics / Python coding / GenAI programming is desirableStrong computer skills, including MS Office Education Masters with minimum 2 years of relevant experience involving dry etch in semiconductor industry/ PhD in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Material Science, Physics, Chemical physics, Chemistry, Semiconductor engineering or relevant majors.
