Job Summary As the Facilities Tool Install Engineer, you will be responsible for supervising and implementing the site plan and design for all Manufacturing tool install activities and cleanroom preventive/corrective maintenance program. It should also include the space planning of facilities utilities that routes from system to individual tool location. You are directly involved in equipment installation projects or non-routinely maintenance activities pertaining to the process tools. You will manage and coordinate with contractors to ensure tool-install activities are completed meeting safety, quality, schedule and budget requirement. This position requires a complex understanding of the constructions function of assigned projects, materials, tools, proactive site coordination and good safety approach in the project execution, for all phases of Cleanroom construction.ResponsibilitiesAdhere to company’s environmental safety health policy and procedure, standard operating procedure with risk assessment, good housekeeping standard and policy when performing workEnsuring implementation of systems and procedures required to attain department goals and objectivesManaging resources as necessary to achieve desired goals and objectivesDetail understanding of design philosophy/concept of Facilities utilities systems to manufacturing production tools.Oversee all stages of cleanroom tool hook-up, including pre-installation planning, equipment rigging, placement, and utility connections such as bulk and specialty gases, chemicals, ultra-pure water, exhaust, power, and chilled water.Collaborate closely with facility engineers, equipment vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of tools into the fabrication infrastructure. This includes coordination regarding wall penetrations, structural supports, ductwork, piping, conduit, and other interfacing requirements. Review and authorize hookup designs, P&IDs, and engineering documentation.Develop and maintain comprehensive schedules for tool installations, track project progress, communicate status updates to senior management, and proactively address delays or challenges as they arise. Manage cleanroom-related projects, including upgrades and expansion initiatives.Ensure all tool installations and operations adhere to cleanroom protocols, environmental health and safety (EHS) regulations, and relevant industry standards. Conduct quality and safety inspections following installation to verify compliance.Plan and execute equipment hookup for new, conversion, unhooking and relocation tools, to meet high quality standard, dynamic schedule and forecasted budgetPlan, track and update utilities database to support manufacturing production toolsPlan and track capital and expense expenditure related to tool installReview and approve equipment hookup drawingManage all tool install contractors site work activities to comply EHS related regulations, risk assessment, safe work procedures and permit to work systemCoordinate with equipment engineers to finalize utilities release schedule and special requirementsPerform utilities and cleanroom system troubleshooting, conduct compressive root-cause analysis and implement effective CA/PA to prevent re-occurrenceLead and develop for continual improvement of documentation in Standard Operating Procedure, Risk Assessment and Installation procedureManage outsourced contract service provider to performance work activities in accordance to service agreementControl costs associated with your area minimizing regular expenditures and promote cost reduction projectsEnsure all materials and manpower ordered are needed and used to complete activitiesTo perform site activities in accordance to Facilities disciplineCoordinate MOR/Funding cycle new tool scenario study based on tool location and technical specification, coordinate with Planning IE/Layout team and Facilities system owners to evaluate utilities base build projects and cost impact required for the new toolDrive continual quality improvement, reliability improvement and cost reduction programs for tool-install activities to support department, site, Facilities global goalsSupport Facilities global tool-install, site wide tool-install cost reduction, best known methods alignment across network sites Job Requirements, Qualifications/ExperienceMust have a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.Minimum 3-5 years of work experience on M&E and Wafer Fab Hook Up/Tool Installations with good technical knowledge in Facilities systemsMust have project management experience.Strong analytical, logical, and critical thinking skillsProficiency in automation and programming skills is a plusEffective communicator, able to collaborate across all levels, and good and presentation skills.Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learningInternship or experience in the semiconductor industry is a plusDemonstrated leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirableInterest in and knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron is preferredEmbody Micron’s core values:People – Respect, develop, and empower othersInnovation – Drive continuous improvement and breakthrough thinkingTenacity – Show grit and determinationCollaboration – Build trust and foster teamworkCustomer Focus – Deliver excellence and value What to Expect Micron is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
