Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.As a US Expansion Planning Engineer, you will be a key contact in preparing for production in a new high volume memory manufacturing facility in Boise, Idaho, calculating and presenting capital impacts of processes that will be introduced at the site to senior leaders in manufacturing and R&D.Innovation is highly valued at Micron. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop new visualization and data driven tools to expedite, optimize and refine the fab planning and reporting processes used to prepare, ramp, and operate the site. Successfully partnering with supply chain, finance, engineering, procurement, production, and R&D, you will connect the business in driving execution of manufacturing, including long term capacity, capital planning and cost savings, for the operation. The ability to understand and efficiently communicate capital impacts of manufacturing changes is essential. Are you ready to meet the challenge?Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Collaborate with partners to drive future tool and process roadmaps, and calculate network capacity impacts of process changesComplete financial analyses before new capital equipment is purchased including metrics optimization, process flexibility, capacity sharing and equipment repurposeHandle site tool utilization and capacity planning models to optimize the site’s deployed capitalApply new Python, SQL, R and traditional Excel, VBA methods to model and automate tasks in the planning system/modelsDesign, track, and communicate capital change proposals through formal presentations to manufacturing senior leaders utilizing Power BI and TableauOptimize capacity of equipment base and lead site- and tool-level optimization studies for efficiency improvementBuild and implement tools to audit manufacturing capital efficiency and identify cost reduction opportunitiesLead and communicate improvement opportunities and implementation plans to all relevant levels and functions in manufacturingMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering2-4 years demonstrated semiconductor capacity planning and capital equipment planning requiredMinimum 2 years proficient experience using Python and SQL to craft and develop visualization and web-based reporting metrics, and influence data driven insights in a manufacturing environmentSemiconductor manufacturing Industrial Engineering experiencePreferred Qualifications:Bachelors or Masters degree in manufacturing fieldExperience turning sophisticated and ambiguous problem statements into structured solutions while working in a highly multi-functional environmentProven ability to successfully analyze and interpret data, drawing conclusions, recommending actions, and reporting results across diverse technical and non-technical groupsDemonstrated ability to operate independently while maintaining a high degree of organization and control and establishing successful working relationships with cross-functional teamsExperience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processesAs a world leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth.
