OverviewMicrosoft’s Long-Lived Asset Accounting team is responsible for the reporting accuracy of over $400 billion in assets for U.S. GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). As a member of our team, the Senior Accounting Manager is an individual contributor, responsible for policy governance, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance, and financial reporting related to intangible assets, goodwill, property and equipment in the Company's Form 10-Q and 10-K in accordance with ASC (Accounting Standards Codification) 350 and 360. Interprets reports and records for managers/stakeholders. Investigates and resolves business partner inquiries, accounting deviations, and other data anomalies. Drives analysis based on data trends.Prepares and reviews inputs into financial statements and drafts disclosures for regulatory accounting filings. Provide support for audits.Fields complex questions from business partners in alignment with accounting standards, guidelines, and accounting policies.Contributes to process-improvement efforts by collecting and reviewing business partner and team feedback, as well as incorporating industry optimal practices.Identifies, evaluates, and leverages technology that could automate or speed up internal processes.Performs gap analysis and helps business process owners design and implement operational and financial controls for SOX cycles.Embody our culture and values QualificationsRequired/Minimum QualificationsMaster's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 3+ years accounting or finance experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 4+ years accounting or finance experience OR equivalent experience. Additional or Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 6+ years accounting or finance experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 8+ years accounting or finance experience OR equivalent experience.Professional accounting certification such as CPA or equivalent.Goodwill, intangible asset, and fixed asset accounting, reporting, and analysis multinational companies transacting in multiple currencies.Advanced skills in applications, such as Excel and Power BI.Large scale ERP experience e.g., SAP.Solid cross group collaboration, interpersonal skills, passion to drive execution and results across multiple teams and business partners.Demonstrated ability and willingness to dive into details and get things done.Ability to deeply understand and anticipate issues, as well as prioritize and define a course of action in evolving areas. #Finance Accounting IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year. Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 3+ years accounting or finance experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting /Finance, or related field AND 4+ years accounting or finance experience OR equivalent experience. (experience, 3 years)

Preferred Qualifications
