OverviewMicrosoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is the team behind Microsoft’s expanding cloud infrastructure and powers Microsoft’s Intelligent Cloud mission. SCHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft’s online services and the Microsoft Azure platform globally, with a focus on smart growth, high efficiency, and trusted customer experiences. As Microsoft’s cloud business continues to grow, the Methodology, Infrastructure, Silicon Engineering, and Labs Engineering (MILE) team helps improve the quality, delivery, scale, and sustainability of Microsoft cloud hardware. We develop digital design methodologies, tools, and automation that enable silicon design teams to deliver new hardware efficiently and reliably. We are looking for a Senior Silicon CAD Engineer specializing in technology enablement and PPA to join the team. In this role, you will contribute to the development, validation, deployment, and support of next generation nodes of digital design tools that are designing Microsoft’s next-generation silicon programs. You will work with senior engineers, design teams, foundry, and EDA partners to troubleshoot flow and tool issues and improve PPA as you enable the next technology nodes ResponsibilitiesCollaborating with foundry teams to coordinate schedules, and validation of various PDK collateral. Collaborating with IP teams to coordinate schedules, and validation of various cell IP collateral. Deploy and maintain the physical design implementation tool PPA methodologies, and signoff tool settings for advanced process technologies. Automation via script and tool writing for data gathering, regression, as well as releases. Documentation and presentation of results QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
