As a Silicon Engineering Intern, you will design, develop, modify and evaluate electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for digital electronic devices and other digital electronic systems. You will define design architecture and operating parameters for circuitry and microelectronic components, select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. You will also analyze designs and components to establish operating parameters and performance requirements to define complete pre-silicon verification test cases, develop test plans and direct support personnel, or other engineers, in the preparation and execution of design verification testing. This opportunity will enable you to analyze data generated from test results to perform pre-silicon verification of operating parameters and performance requirements. Implements or recommends technical solutions to common quality and design challenges, with guidance from others (including logic design, verification, circuit design, physical design, and design for test).Uses standard practices to write complete design verification test cases, test benches, or automation.Assists in writing tests for formal pre-silicon verification of subsystems within a single block; includes the use of simulation and emulation tools, as well as tests for signal integrity, to prevent bugs/failures before production.QualificationsRequired qualifications:Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship. Additional or Preferred qualifications:Currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.Experience or classes in the following areas:Digital Logic Design and Simulation Object Oriented Programming and Data Structures Embedded Systems and Firmware Knowledge of verification principles, testbenches, UVM Knowledge of C/C++ and scripting languages Experience with digital timing analysis, synthesis, place-n-routeCircuit design, including VLSI design and solid-state devices The base pay range for this internship is USD $5,690.00 - $11,210.00 per month. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $7,410.00 - $12,250.00 per month. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
